Nursing Homes Vs. You Don't Know Jack
The film You Don't Know Jack Dr. Jack is about a Doctor who was trying to let patients with terminal illness rest with out suffer to much, be torture for pain or have a hard time in a nursing home.He did that with different methods by IV giving an extra dose of medicine, putting a mask to the patient with carbon monoxide, or giving a shot by syringe. Is possible infer from the film that Dr.Jack motivation to give relief to this person came from the past when his mother died suffering to much. A similar situation happen to a friend of Dr.Jack called Janet her mother die in a nursing home because they didn't care her well. This also happened with some member of the family of Peter Canning the author of the book Paramedic. In a section of his book called Nursing home, he tell us about his grand mother who die in a nursing home because they didn't were gently caring her as Janet mother in the film. In another section of his book, he also tell us about an orange bracelet used in Connecticut for patient with terminal illness with the purpose of don't receive assistant resuscitation. This is similar of what Dr.Jack did with his patient, leaving to them the decision of live or die.
Children
Whose Kids Are These?
Quote
I agree with this quote " We are children only once, and after those few years are gone, there is not second chance to make amends. In this respect, the consequences of unequal education have a terrible finality. Those who are denied cannot be 'made whole' by later act of government." I personally believe that children learn from adults, and after they learn specific ideas or ways to think and react during their whole childhood is difficult to change them in one day. If you don't receive education and develop your skills during your childhood. You are no going to learn everything you miss before in a short period of time because develop skill take time and some people learn faster than others.

Lessons
Checklist - #1
The fundamental idea behind EMS is to commence medical treatment for injured and sick patient as early as possible--- to bring the hospital to the patient at the same time the patient is being brought to the hospital. (Peter Caning, Paramedic P.19)
Shootings and Stabbings - #1 and #2
Too Young - #2
I can conclude that, this is an example of racial segregation. This mother grow up in the city, in a poor neighborhood where people did not receive education and all this kids that Peter was talking about in the chapter were growing up in the similar situation poor and with out someone who care about them and show them some love.
That situation mentioned before is a good example about what happened in some American cities when people with money (Rich people) started to move to the suburbs, leaving the cities in extremely poverty because the tax base decrease.
Maytag Repairman Syndrome - #1
In this section Peter finally could got a tube in field, even though he had done nine while he was making his internship in the operating room. He needed to get one during his paramedic class ride time and he did, but the irony is that the patient die.
Drug Box - #1
In this chapter Tom taught Peter that he has to believe in himself and have confidence in what he learn to become in a good paramedic.Tom taught that to Peter asking him something and when Peter answer correct, Tom told him that the answer was wrong and Peter star to thin in another answer and Tom told him " You were right the first time, but you have to be more sure of your self ".
Waiting - #1
This section is called waiting because Peter, the author is waiting to develop his skill, get more experience and confidence in his work as a paramedic.
On My Own - #1
In this chapter Peter was unsure about what will happens with him as a paramedic, because he passed the time required time working with a precept, and now is his time to work with out someone else supervising him. That is why he is wondering if he going to do it well or not.
