The other side of technology
Technology it is everywhere around us, and it is advancing day after day. You could probably realize about it, because new items are currently going out to the market. Bringing with them many benefits, but have you ever think about the disadvantages of it? I want to discuss some of the disadvantages of technology on social interactions.
According to the author of the article “ So Much Information, So Little Time” technology is a helpful tool, but there are some consequences of use it, like people that are not developing his/her critical thinking or low social skills. The first idea the author point out is that people can research about any topic easily than in the past. He supported this idea citeing a study (Carr, 2008, Para. 7). He also mentions that technology made socials connections grow up, and gave some examples of it. Finally he concludes that technology benefits have some disadvantages.
It is true that technology let us keep in contact with friends and family members that live miles and miles away from us, sometimes in other countries or continent. It is also true that technology keep us away from this friends and family members that we have near us and sometimes in our houses. Thanks to the technology I can talk with my parents and friends that live in another country, but when is one of my relatives or friends birthday, I just text them instead of try to spend time with them who are close to me. Thecnology also provide exesive information
Every human being has the need to socialize with someone else. That let humans develops their interpersonal relations with others, but technology offer many different ways to entertainment keeping people away to each other even though they live in the same house. I think it is important that we started to use technology moderately.

Does birth order affect personality?
Everyone have different personalities, and our personality is usually formed by situations that happened during different steps of our life, especially in our childhood, but these events could make us change and keep the changes until we become adults. I want to discuss about how that personality depends more of our parents or tutors exigencies than our birth order.
According to the article Birth Order and Adult Sibling Relationships, experts believe that birth order could be a determinate factor thought a person life, even though there are some exceptions to that point of view. The first idea that the author point out is about the firstborn, he affirm through an explanation that firstborn acts more like leaders and are more responsible that the other sisters and brothers. After that he state that middle children are less responsible passive person, and youngest one as someone who others member of the family protect. Finally he talks about only child who have specials characteristics. He conclude saying that all this personalities could change when children grow up, depending of each person.
Probably birth order affects people personality because parents are point out frequently and child internalizes it. Parents also classify responsibilities according to the age of each child giving the older one more responsibilities than the others or in the other side they could not be demanding enough with their children to make them be responsible. What I mention before about parents who do not give responsibilities to their children is exactly what happened with my cousins. There are two brothers and their parents were not demanding with them as a consequence they did not develop too much the ability to be responsible. The youngest children fit in the description the author point out, according him youngest children are less responsible and tend to depend more of the other people, but I think it is not because he is the youngest; it is because the way his family is raising him. The oldest one does not fit in any of the characteristics according to the author. If you ask him how to clean or cook, he does not have idea of how to do it. He also is not doing well in school, not taking advance of the opportunity they have to go to school, and showing that he is not ambitious at all.
Parents and tutors should be demanding in a positive way with their children to teach them how to be responsible, regardless of the birth order. This is a way to help them to success and understand what it means to be responsible and have others depend on you. I think it is very important for parents to be equally demanding with all their childrens so they can all learn how to be responsible. I have personally seen cases of the youngest child being more responsible than the oldest and it was all because of the way they were raised.

When I moved to new york I started to look for a beauty parlor, but I couldn't find one where I was happy with the results. That's why I decide to fix my hair by myself ,and the first time I did it, I realize how hard blow dry hair is.That day I understood how difficult is be a beautician. A similar situation happen to a Doctor when he became a patient and felt how patients felt when they visit a Doctor or receive a treatment, his name is Dr. Jack Mackee in the movie Doctor, Treated his patient like objects, he did not care to much about them, and he did not act with professionalism. I want to discus how Doctors can act with professionalism with each patient.
The story about Dr. Jack Mackee is the follow: He was a surgery Doctor, who didn't treat his patients with professionalism and made fun of the Doctor who did it. One day Dr. Mackee was diagnosed with throat cancer. He went through radiation sections but the cancer was growing despite the radiation that's why Doctors decided to make surgery and few days later, he finally started to get better. After that experience of being a patient, Dr. Mackee change completely his manner with the patients because while he was through the treatment he realize about patients feeling.
When Dr.Mackee knew he had to receive surgery, he asked Dr. Eli Blumfield to do the procedure for him because he perfectly knew that Dr. Blumfield treated his patients with professionalism, being respectful, polite, careful and sincere like Dr. E was with Jerome Groopman in the book How Doctors Think. When he arrived to his office after visited many Doctors because his wrist was hurting. Dr. E gave to him a good diagnosis and the less invasive solution for the wrist problems. Some ways how doctor could be professional are: They have to listen carefully the patient because listening the patient is one of the way how the Doctor can get the right diagnosis. Another way is take enough time to examine the patient and not rush to the diagnosis, rushing the diagnosis is a dangerous practice. Doctors also have to provide privacy to the patients when they are examining them, patients privacy is one of the most important issue in health care and every Doctor must to keep the patient information confidential.
There are many ways how Doctors can keep professionalism and the one of the ways is reeducating the Doctors about proper patient interaction. This work should be done by the institution in charge to manage Patients-Doctors problems. In addition, open more opportunities to the patients to give a feed back when they visit a Doctor like implement regulations requiring Doctors to have posters, flyer, brochure... in their offices with the information about who patients can contact in case you have a complaint or ask to patients to file a survey online and motivating the patients to post reviews about it. Professionalism is an important aspect in all the fields including medicine and we all should receive an adequate treat.

Do you like see doctors? How do you feel about the personal treatment you receive when you see one? Do you dislike seeing them, or is it comfortable like when you spend time with a friend? In the episode My lunch from the TV show called Scrub one of the doctor called Cox had a friend in the hospital waiting for a transplant and because he was in a hurry to make his friend feel better he make and error that cost his friend live.I am going to discuss what kind of error Dr. Cox did according the book How Doctors Think.
In the hospital where Dr.Cox works there were three patients waiting for transplants, and one of them were Dr.Cox’s friend. He and his team were doing their best to keep the patients alive until they got the donors. While they were waiting, a woman died and they took her organs, but before that Dr.Cox does not went through an entire examination, because he knew the woman and he does not thought that were necessary confirm with test what was the cause of the women dead, and he was in a hurry to get a kidney for his friend. After the transplant the patients started to got sick and they couldn't explain why. They decided to study the corpse of the woman and they realized that she died for rabies instead of an overdoses like they thought before, and that’s why the patient were getting sick. Unfortunately the patients died.
This tragedy is a clear example of effective error, defined according to the book How Doctors Think by Jerome Groopman is "The tend to prefer what we hope will happen to the less appealing alternatives".To begin with the Doctor was worry and sad, because his friend was sick and that's why he wants to make the whole process more comfortable for the patient, he also was in a hurry to get a donor because he didn't know how long it was going to take got one and he did not want make his friend way too much or the worst thing lost his friend because he couldn't got the organs. In addition, the Doctor promised to the patient that he would find a donor and when he knew about the dead woman he rush the process to make the transplants and see his friend fine again but this was not the ending. If the patient had not been friend of the doctor, the doctor probably had not been rush the process, but his thinking was focus on resolve his friend problem faster, and that is why he did not though in the consequences of skip an important procedure. In this case the consequences were the worst, because not only his friend died the other patient also died for his fault, that make the consequences bigger than they were.

While they were waiting a woman die and they took her organs but before that Dr.Cox doesn't went through an entire examination because he knew the woman and he doesn't thought that were necessary confirm with test what was the cause of the women dead and he was in a hurry to get a kidney for his friend. After the transplant the patients start to get sick and they couldn't explain why. They decide to study the corpse of the woman and they realize that she for rabies instead of an overdoses like they though before and that’s why the patient were getting sick. Unfortunate the patients die.
This is a clear example of affective error, to begin with the Doctor was worry and sad because his friend was sick and that's why he wants to do the whole process more comfortable for the patient, he also was in a hurry to get a donor because he didn't know how long was going to take get one and he doesn't want make his friend way too much or the worst thing lost his friend because he couldn't get the organs. In addition the Doctor promise to the patient that he will find a donor and when he knew about the dead woman he rush the process to make the transplants and see his friend fine again but this was not the ending.

Our lives are full of opportunities and we have to learn how to enjoy every opportunity we got. I lived an unusual experience when I have an internship. This experience was a little different and difficult than an average person and I want to describe to you what happened to me.
First of all, I was having an internship, because in my country The Dominican Republic it is a requirement to graduate from high school. In those days,I was thinking of studying medicine. Therefore I chose to do my internship in an ambulance. In the first two weeks they taught me first response. After these two weeks they let me ride in the ambulance. My responsibilities were to take the blood pressure and pulse, check the eyes and throat and help with the patient as much as I could. Everything was going fine until our first call.I felt prepared and secured about what they taught before but when I saw the patient I started to cry and I could not help him. I did not do what I was supposed to do. I just felt great pity for the patient and that left me in shock. I tried two more times and the same thing happened to me. I couldn't finish the internship in the ambulance, so they let me finish the internship in the base answering the phone.
After that experience I knew that I am a very sensitive and sentimental person that does not let me act in emergency situations. And that is why I decided that I did not want to study medicine anymore. Some months later, I realize that I was good with numbers and I chose to study accounting in my country The Dominican Republic. Now I am not sure yet where I want to go, because I am living in the United States and right now I am in the process of trying to transfer my credits and do not have to spend years and years in the college again. If I can transfer at least half of my credits, I am going to study accounting in the Unite States to get my diploma, because I want to work for the IRS. If not, I am going to choose another major like sewing design or pattern maker, because I want to get my own business.
I personally believe that you have to work something that you really like, because when you work something that you really do not like sooner or later you get bored and you have to still do it to earn money and survive, but when you enjoy what you do. You get the best fuel to work and you could get satisfaction, one the most important feeling when we talk about work, because make you do it better and better every day. That could be a challenge task on this days, because the fields of study are very width, and for some persons are difficult choose the right one.
I feel I am on target with my career in the United States. Accounting or design I am just at the beginning of my goal because first of all I have to learn english very well, be fluent in it and improve my skills in writing to be able to take classes at the university and reach my goal. I am studying english hard because I really want to reach my goal.
